Strategies in Light China 2011

Strategies in Light China (part of Strategies In Light worldwide events) held its second annual event in Shenzhen, China. After our pre-conference workshops focused on Manufacturing Issues and Strategies for LEDs, and LED Test & Measurement, Ella Shum, Director of LED Market Research at Strategies Unlimited, officially opened the conference sessions to a crowd of over 200 attendees. 

Christian Schraft, Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy and Corporate Marketing, of Osram AG, presented a positive outlook for the future of the large and fast growing general lighting segment of the market. Jack Zhang, CEO of Gaogong LED, also presented that the Chinese government subsidies trickling down in 2012 will grow the SSL market exponentially. Rounding up the plenary session, Juergen Sturm Secretary General of European Lamp Companies Federation, discussed how emerging compliance guidelines and standards had helped build trust and market share as trade continues between Asia and Europe.

STRATEGIES IN LIGHT CHINA ENTERS PARTNERSHIP WITH SHENZHEN LED INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION

Tulsa, OK, March 1, 2012 - Strategies in Light China 2012, a leading conference and exhibition on LEDS  & Lighting being held on May 22-24 in Shenzhen, China, announced today it had signed a partnership agreement with the Shenzhen LED Industry Association.

The association is an industrial, local, non-profit social organization voluntarily constituted of enterprises, scientific research institutes and relevant social communities with independent legal entity with over 700 member companies. It is directed by Shenzhen Science &Technology and Information Bureau and approved by Shenzhen Non-government Organization Administrative Bureau.

“The signing of this agreement will provide both SIL China and the Shenzhen LED Industry Association a more global reach, building on each organization’s expertise to promote the exchange of LED technologies and experiences from within China as well as the international community,” stated Lisa Gasaway, Operations Director for the Strategies in Light Events at PennWell Corporation.

Involving both Chinese and foreign companies at all levels of the HB LED supply chain, Strategies in Light China will include one day of pre-conference workshops on special topics of interest to the LED community.  Conference speakers and attendees are targeted to be approximately 50% from the greater China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan) region and 50% from the U.S., Europe and other regions of the world.
